- You are at least 18 years old.
- You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
- You are not prohibited from using Travelism under applicable law.
- The information you provide is accurate and not misleading.
- You will comply with these Terms and applicable laws.
You may not create or operate an account on behalf of a person under 18.
Travelism may request information reasonably necessary to verify your age, identity, authority, or eligibility.
3. Your Account
You may need an account to access Travelism features.
You agree to:
- Provide accurate and current account information
- Keep your login credentials confidential
- Use a secure password
- Maintain access to your registered email address
- Notify Travelism promptly if you suspect unauthorized access
- Accept responsibility for activity occurring through your account, except where caused by Travelism’s failure to use reasonable security measures
- Only verify a phone number that belongs to you
You must not:

- Impersonate another person, business, organization, or public authority
- Create accounts to evade suspension, blocking, moderation, or enforcement
- Use automated methods to create or operate accounts
- Misrepresent your age, identity, affiliation, qualifications, or authority
Travelism may restrict or require additional verification for suspicious, duplicated, compromised, or misleading accounts.
4. Personal and Business Profiles
4.1 Personal profiles
A personal profile must represent the individual operating it.
You may not create a personal profile that:
- Impersonates another person
- Uses a misleading identity
- Falsely claims professional, official, or verified status
- Violates another person’s intellectual-property or privacy rights
- Is intended primarily for fraud, spam, manipulation, or abuse
4.2 Business profiles
You may create or manage a business profile only when you have authority to represent that business.
By creating or managing a business profile, you confirm that:
- The business information is accurate.
- You are the owner or an authorized representative.
- You have permission to use the business name, branding, images, and documents.
- The business operates lawfully.
- You will update information that becomes inaccurate or outdated.
Travelism may request proof of ownership, registration, authorization, licensing, or identity.
Travelism may remove or restrict business profiles that are misleading, unauthorized, fraudulent, inactive, unlawful, or inconsistent with these Terms.
You are responsible for everyone you add as a team member on a business profile. You are also responsible for everything they do on the business's behalf, including chatting with customers, managing listings, and handling orders.
Before a business can sell products or services, accept bookings, or receive payouts through Travelism, it must complete the Business Verification Center and sign Travelism's Business Partner Agreement. The Business Partner Agreement governs commissions, fees, payouts, refunds, chargebacks, and the business's other commercial obligations. If it conflicts with these Terms on those matters, the Business Partner Agreement applies.
4.3 Professional accounts
You may switch a personal profile to a professional account where this is offered. Some professional features require an active paid personal plan. You can switch back to a standard personal profile.
You must choose a professional category that accurately describes you. Any certificates, licences, or qualifications you submit for professional verification must be genuine, current, and your own. Travelism may remove a professional category, badge, or account if the information is misleading.
Professional verification confirms only that Travelism reviewed the submitted evidence at a particular time. It is not an endorsement or a guarantee of skill, licensing, insurance, or safety.
5. Verification
Travelism may offer personal and business verification features.
Verification may require identity documents, selfies, business records, ownership information, licences, or other supporting evidence.
Submitting an application does not guarantee approval.
Travelism may:
- Approve or reject an application
- Request additional information
- Require corrections or resubmission
- Suspend review
- Revoke verification
- Hide or remove a verification badge
- Prevent reapplication where fraud or abuse is suspected
A verification badge indicates only that Travelism completed the applicable verification process at a particular time. It does not represent:
- An endorsement or recommendation
- A guarantee of trustworthiness
- A guarantee of professional competence
- A guarantee that content, products, services, or statements are accurate
- A guarantee that a user or business will continue meeting verification requirements
You must not alter, fabricate, misuse, sell, transfer, or publicly expose verification documents or verification access.
You must not falsely claim to be verified.
The blue checkmark is shown only while a profile has completed identity verification and has an active eligible paid plan. For a professional account, completed professional verification is also required. If the plan ends or verification is revoked, the checkmark is removed. Identity verification on its own is shown as a "Verified" status without the checkmark.
6. User Content
“User Content” means content that users submit, create, upload, publish, send, display, or otherwise make available through Travelism.
User Content may include:

- You own the User Content or have permission to use it.
- Your User Content does not infringe another person’s rights.
- Your User Content is accurate where it is presented as factual.
- Your User Content complies with these Terms and applicable law.
- You have obtained any necessary consent from identifiable people shown or described in the content.
7. Licence Granted to Travelism
When you submit User Content, you grant Travelism a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, and sublicensable licence to host, store, reproduce, process, adapt, resize, compress, transmit, display, distribute, and otherwise use that User Content only as reasonably necessary to:
- Operate Travelism
- Display the content according to your selected audience
- Deliver content to other users
- Provide sharing and collaboration features
- Store backups
- Improve technical presentation and compatibility
- Moderate content

- Protect users and the platform
- Promote Travelism using content you have made public, subject to applicable law
This licence does not transfer ownership of your User Content to Travelism.
The licence ends when the content is deleted from Travelism’s active systems, except where:
- The content was shared with or copied by another user
- Retention is required for backups
- Retention is necessary for safety, fraud prevention, moderation, legal compliance, or dispute resolution
- The content has been anonymized or aggregated
- A separate permission or agreement applies
You must not upload content for which you cannot grant these permissions.

- Content designed to deceive users about identity, sponsorship, or commercial relationships
8.9 Platform abuse
- Reverse engineering except where legally permitted

- Testing vulnerabilities without written authorization
- Circumventing access controls
- Collecting user information through unauthorized means
- Selling access to Travelism data
- Using Travelism to develop competing datasets through scraping
- Overloading, disrupting, or damaging the service
- Circumventing suspension, blocking, deletion, or moderation controls
9. Community Guidelines
Travelism’s Community Guidelines form part of these Terms.
The Community Guidelines may provide additional rules concerning:
- User-generated content
- Safety
- Harassment
- Impersonation
- Spam
- Travel-related scams
- Reporting
- Blocking
- Moderation
- Enforcement
The Community Guidelines will be available at:
https://travelism.app/community-guidelines
Where these Terms and the Community Guidelines address the same conduct, both apply.
10. Reporting, Blocking, and Moderation
Travelism may provide tools that allow users to:
- Report profiles
- Report posts or comments
- Report messages or chats
- Report safety concerns
- Block other profiles
- Hide or remove certain interactions
- Contact support
Travelism may review reports and take action including:
- Removing content
- Limiting content visibility
- Issuing warnings

- Preserving evidence
- Reporting conduct to relevant authorities
Travelism may use automated systems, human review, or both to detect or evaluate potential violations.
Travelism is not required to disclose confidential moderation methods, internal evidence, reporter identities, security information, or information that could facilitate abuse.
Submitting false, malicious, repetitive, or retaliatory reports is prohibited.
Travelism may decide not to remove content where it determines that the content does not violate these Terms, the Community Guidelines, or applicable law.
11. Messages and Communications
Travelism may provide direct, group, business, or trip-related communication features.
You must not use messages or calls to:
- Harass or threaten others
- Send spam
- Distribute malware or phishing links
- Solicit illegal transactions
- Obtain sensitive information deceptively
- Send sexually exploitative content
- Evade blocks or contact restrictions
- Impersonate Travelism staff
- Manipulate or defraud users
- Record another participant's audio or video without their knowledge or consent, where prohibited by law
- Repeatedly place unwanted calls to another user
Voice and video calls are transmitted through our calling infrastructure provider while a call is in progress. Travelism does not record calls; call metadata (such as who called whom and when) may be kept as described in the Privacy Policy.
Messages are intended for their participants. However, Travelism may access, preserve, or review messages when:
- A participant reports the conversation
- Safety or abuse detection requires review
- Legal compliance requires access
- Necessary technical support is requested
- Necessary to protect Travelism or its users
Users should not use Travelism messages for emergency communications.
When you message a business, the business owner and the team members it authorizes can read and reply to the conversation. They may also organise it with labels, notes, reminders, and assignments, and export it for the business's records.
12. Trips, Destinations, and Travel Information
Travelism may allow users to create trips, destinations, itineraries, activities, packing lists, notes, collaboration invitations, and other travel-related content.
Travelism does not guarantee that user-provided travel information is:
- Accurate
- Complete
- Current
- Safe
- Lawful
- Suitable for a particular user
- Available at the stated time
- Free from travel restrictions, health risks, or security concerns
You are responsible for independently checking:
- Entry and visa requirements
- Passport requirements
- Health requirements
- Travel advisories
- Weather conditions
- Local laws
- Insurance requirements
- Transportation information
- Accommodation information
- Safety conditions
- Accessibility
- Costs and availability
Travelism is not a government authority, emergency service, travel insurer, medical provider, legal adviser, or official travel-advisory service.
Do not rely solely on Travelism or User Content when making safety-critical travel decisions.
13. Trip Collaboration
Trip owners may invite other profiles to collaborate.
Collaborators may be permitted to view or modify trip information depending on their assigned role.
When using collaboration features:
- Invite only people you intend to include.
- Review collaborator permissions carefully.
- Do not alter or delete another person’s contributions maliciously.
- Do not share private trip information outside the intended group.
- Remove collaborators who should no longer have access.
Travelism is not responsible for disagreements between trip owners and collaborators.
Travelism may preserve activity records or versions to support functionality, safety, dispute review, or data recovery.
14. Emergency SOS
Travelism offers an Emergency SOS feature that lets you alert your trip collaborators and nearby users who have opted in to receive alerts.
Emergency SOS is not an emergency service and does not replace calling local emergency services. In an emergency, always contact local police, ambulance, fire, or rescue services first.
Travelism does not monitor alerts, does not dispatch help, and does not guarantee that anyone will see or respond to an alert. People who respond are other users, not Travelism staff or trained responders. Travelism is not responsible for their actions.
You must not send false, test, or prank alerts, or use the feature to harass, track, or lure anyone. Misuse may lead to suspension or termination of your account.
15. Businesses, External Services, and Travel Providers
Business profiles and users may describe services, destinations, accommodations, activities, or other commercial offerings.
Unless Travelism expressly states otherwise, Travelism is not:
- The owner or operator of a listed business
- A party to an agreement between users and businesses
- A travel agent
- A hotel operator
- A tour operator
- A transportation provider
- A payment provider
- A guarantor of any product or service
You are responsible for independently evaluating a business, provider, listing, offer, or service.
A verification badge does not guarantee quality, safety, legality, availability, licensing, pricing, or performance.
Disputes relating to an external purchase, reservation, service, or transaction are primarily between the relevant user and third-party provider.
The Travelism marketplace lets you order products or book services — such as accommodation, tours, transport, experiences, guides, or restaurants — directly from a business. When you place an order or make a booking, you are entering into a transaction with that business, not with Travelism. Travelism displays order and booking details, calculates totals, and passes your order or booking to the business, but does not manufacture, ship, prepare, or perform the products or services being ordered or booked.
The only payment method currently available on Travelism is cash on delivery — you pay the business directly when your order arrives or your service is provided. Travelism does not currently collect, process, or hold payment on your behalf.
Each business sets its own cancellation and refund policy, which is shown before you place an order or make a booking. You can submit a cancellation or refund request in the app within the time allowed by that policy. For cash-on-delivery orders and bookings, any refund is paid by the business. Travelism may help by facilitating communication, applying the published policy, or reviewing a report or dispute. Travelism is not responsible for a business's failure to deliver, perform, cancel, or refund an order or booking.
Reviews you leave for a business must reflect your genuine experience. Businesses must not offer incentives for positive reviews or ask for negative reviews to be removed, and must not post reviews of their own business.
16. Marketplace Orders, Bookings, and Commercial Features
Travelism currently offers marketplace product orders and service bookings, described in Section 15. For users, cash on delivery is the only available payment method. Travelism does not currently offer card or online payment processing for marketplace orders or bookings.
16.1 Subscriptions
Travelism offers optional paid subscriptions for personal accounts (such as Basic and Premium) and business accounts (such as Free, Standard, Pro, and Elite). They are sold as in-app purchases through the Apple App Store or Google Play. The tiers, prices, billing period, and included features are shown in the app before you buy.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before renewal, or as otherwise required by the app store. Subscriptions are billed and managed by the applicable app store. You can manage or cancel them in your app store account settings. Deleting the Travelism app or your Travelism account does not cancel a subscription. Refunds are handled by the app store under its own policies, subject to your mandatory consumer rights.
Travelism may change the features included in a plan. If a change materially reduces what you are paying for, we will give reasonable notice, and the change will apply from your next renewal.
16.2 Commissions and payouts for businesses
A business that completes a marketplace order or service booking through Travelism pays Travelism a commission. The commission is calculated as a percentage of the order or booking amount under the business's Business Partner Agreement and subscription tier. It is charged to the business, not to the user placing the order or booking, and does not change the price a user pays.
16.3 Featured placement and promoted posts
Businesses on eligible plans may receive featured marketplace placement or promoted posts. This content is labelled in the app (for example, "Boosted" or "Promoted"). Paid placement does not mean Travelism endorses a business, product, or service.
16.4 Referral and sales partner programs
Travelism may offer referral rewards, activity rankings, and leaderboards. A business may also invite users to act as sales partners (affiliates) and earn commission on orders and bookings credited to them, at the rate the business sets.
You must not manipulate these programs, for example through fake or duplicate accounts, self-referrals, artificial activity, or orders that are not genuine. Travelism may withhold, reverse, or cancel rewards, rankings, or commissions connected to cancelled or refunded orders, fraud, abuse, or breaches of these Terms, and may change or end these programs.
16.5 Future commercial features
Travelism may introduce additional commercial features later, including card or online payment processing. Before introducing paid features not already described in this section, Travelism may publish additional terms covering:
- Prices
- Taxes
- Payment processing
- Renewals
- Cancellations
- Refunds
- Booking terms
- Provider obligations
- Consumer rights
You will be shown applicable commercial terms before entering a paid transaction with Travelism.
17. Third-Party Links and Services
Travelism may contain links to third-party websites, social platforms, maps, businesses, booking services, payment providers, or other external resources.
Travelism does not control and is not responsible for:
- Third-party content
- Third-party privacy practices
- External availability
- External security
- Prices or offers
- Products or services
- Transactions completed outside Travelism
- Loss caused by third-party services
Accessing a third-party service is at your own risk and may be governed by separate terms and privacy policies.
18. Intellectual Property
Travelism and its licensors own all rights in the Travelism service that are not owned by users, including:
- The Travelism name
- Logos
- Branding
- Interface designs
- Software
- Source code
- Databases
- Graphics
- Layouts
- Features
- Documentation
- Original written material
- Compilations and arrangements
These Terms do not grant you ownership of Travelism intellectual property.
Travelism grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the service for its intended purposes in accordance with these Terms.
You may not use Travelism branding or intellectual property without prior written permission, except where applicable law permits such use.
19. Copyright and Intellectual-Property Complaints
If you believe content on Travelism infringes your copyright, trademark, or other intellectual-property rights, contact:
Your notice should include:
- Your name and contact information
- Identification of the protected work or right
- Identification of the allegedly infringing content
- The content’s location on Travelism
- A statement explaining your good-faith belief
- Evidence of ownership or authority
- A declaration that the information provided is accurate
Travelism may remove or restrict disputed content while reviewing a complaint.
Users who repeatedly infringe intellectual-property rights may have their accounts restricted or terminated.
You must not knowingly submit false infringement claims.
20. Suggestions and Feedback
You may provide suggestions, ideas, or feedback about Travelism.
You grant Travelism permission to use feedback without payment, attribution, confidentiality, or restriction.
This does not give Travelism ownership of unrelated User Content or confidential information that Travelism separately agrees in writing to protect.
21. Service Availability and Changes
Travelism is provided on an evolving basis.
Travelism may:
- Add or remove features
- Change layouts
- Modify technical requirements
- Impose reasonable limits
- Suspend features
- Restrict access
- Conduct maintenance
- Discontinue part or all of the service
Travelism does not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or permanently available service.
Where reasonably practical, Travelism may provide notice of material changes or discontinuation.
22. Account Deactivation and Deletion
You may deactivate or request deletion of your account using available Travelism settings.
Account-deletion information will also be available at:
https://travelism.app/account-deletion
You may contact:
Travelism may require identity or account-ownership verification before processing a deletion request.
A deletion request may be subject to a short security or recovery period where displayed in the app.
Following completion, Travelism may delete, anonymize, or retain information as described in the Privacy Policy.
Deletion may not remove:
- Content independently copied or shared by other users
- Information necessary for legal compliance
- Records necessary for fraud or abuse prevention
- Moderation or safety records
- Information required to resolve disputes
- Information contained temporarily in protected backups
Temporary deactivation is not the same as permanent deletion.
23. Suspension and Termination
You may stop using Travelism at any time.
Travelism may restrict, suspend, or terminate your account or access where reasonably necessary because:
- You violated these Terms.
- You violated the Community Guidelines.
- Your account creates a safety or security risk.
- Fraud, impersonation, or illegal activity is suspected.
- Your account was compromised.
- You repeatedly infringe intellectual-property rights.
- You misuse verification.
- You misuse Emergency SOS, reviews, referrals, or sales partner programs.
- You attempt to evade enforcement.
- Required by law.
- Necessary to protect Travelism, users, or others.
Travelism may act immediately where there is a serious safety, fraud, security, or legal risk.
Where appropriate, Travelism may provide notice or an opportunity to request review.
Termination does not affect provisions that by their nature should survive, including ownership, licences relating to retained content, disclaimers, liability limitations, dispute provisions, and enforcement rights.
24. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Travelism is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
Travelism does not guarantee:
- Continuous availability
- Error-free operation
- Accuracy of User Content
- Identity or trustworthiness of users
- Quality of external businesses or services
- Safety of destinations or travel activities
- Availability of travel services
- Compatibility with every device
- That all harmful content will be detected or removed immediately
Travelism does not provide legal, medical, immigration, financial, insurance, security, or professional travel advice.
Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot legally be excluded.
25. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Travelism and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive loss arising from or relating to:
- Your use or inability to use Travelism
- User Content
- Actions of other users
- Travel decisions
- External services
- Loss of data
- Lost profits, revenue, opportunity, goodwill, or business
- Unauthorized account access not caused by Travelism’s failure to use reasonable safeguards
- Service interruptions
- Content copied or distributed by others
Travelism does not exclude or limit liability where exclusion or limitation is prohibited by law, including liability that cannot legally be excluded for fraud, wilful misconduct, or personal injury caused by negligence where applicable.
Subject to mandatory legal rights, Travelism’s aggregate liability arising from or relating to the service will not exceed the greater of:
- The amount you paid directly to Travelism during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim; or
- US$50
A marketplace order or service booking paid in cash directly to a business is a payment to that business, not to Travelism, and does not count toward this amount. If you hold an active paid subscription, the amount paid directly to Travelism reflects the portion of your subscription payment Travelism receives through the applicable app store over the relevant 12-month period.
26. Your Responsibility for Claims
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to be responsible for losses, liabilities, damages, and reasonable costs arising from:
- Your unlawful use of Travelism
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your User Content
- Your infringement of another person’s rights
- Your fraud, misrepresentation, or intentional misconduct
This section does not require you to compensate Travelism for losses caused by Travelism’s own unlawful conduct, negligence, or breach of these Terms.
27. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka.
Before commencing formal proceedings, you and Travelism should attempt in good faith to resolve a dispute by contacting:
The notice should describe:
- The issue
- Relevant account information
- The requested resolution
- Supporting information
The following jurisdiction clause applies:
These Terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka. Subject to any mandatory rights available to you under the laws of your country of residence, the courts of Sri Lanka will have non-exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or Travelism.
Nothing in these Terms prevents either party from seeking urgent protective or injunctive relief where legally available.
28. Mandatory Consumer Rights
These Terms do not limit rights that cannot be waived under the laws applicable to you.
Where a provision conflicts with a mandatory consumer-protection rule, the mandatory rule will apply to the extent of the conflict.
29. Changes to These Terms
Travelism may update these Terms when:
- Features change
- New services are introduced
- Legal requirements change
- Safety practices change
- Commercial features are introduced
- Platform operations change
The updated Terms will show a revised effective date, last-updated date, and version number.
Travelism may notify users of material changes through:
- The app
- The website
- Account notices
- Another reasonable method
Where legally required, Travelism will request renewed acceptance.
Continued use after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance, except where separate consent is required by law.
We keep a record of the version of these Terms that each account has accepted. For material changes, we may ask you to review and accept the updated Terms before you continue using certain features.
30. General Provisions
30.1 Entire agreement
These Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Community Guidelines, and any feature-specific terms form the agreement between you and Travelism concerning the service.
30.2 Severability
If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
The unenforceable provision will be interpreted or modified only to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable where permitted.
30.3 No waiver
Failure to enforce a provision does not waive the right to enforce it later.
30.4 Assignment
You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without written permission from Travelism.
Travelism may transfer these Terms as part of a merger, restructuring, financing, acquisition, sale, or transfer of the service, subject to applicable law.
30.5 No partnership
These Terms do not create an employment, agency, partnership, franchise, fiduciary, or joint-venture relationship between you and Travelism.
30.6 Headings
Section headings are provided for convenience and do not limit the meaning of the Terms.
